About us

The beginning of efforts to establish the Regional Tourism Organization (OOCR), which is now operating under the name Trnava Tourism, dates back to the first workshop held at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Trnava on May 24, 2011. As a result of subsequent activities by external consultants, entrepreneurs, and primarily the City Hall of Trnava, TRNAVA TOURISM was officially registered by the Ministry of Transport, Construction, and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic on February 23, 2012, under registration number 09366/2012/SCR as the official regional tourism organization in Trnava, in accordance with Act No. 91/2010 Coll. on the promotion of tourism, as amended.

Our main goals are:

  • Continuous effort to make the tourism offer of the Trnava Region more attractive,
  • Marketing and sales of the destination,
  • Supporting the creation and sustainability of new tourism products,
  • Providing tourist information services for visitors of the TRNAVA Region through its Tourist Information Center in the City Tower at Trojičné námestie 1,
  • Implementation of innovations in the Trnava Region destination,
  • Increasing the competitiveness of traditional destination products,
  • Improving services, especially in the HoReCa sector in Trnava and the surrounding region.

These ambitions reflect our belief in Trnava's potential as a tourism destination based on its history and high-quality culture, especially with regard to sacred music. Significant results have also been achieved in winemaking and mead production, with international recognition. These ambitions reflect our belief in the economic potential of the tourism sector in Trnava and its ability to positively stimulate employment in the HoReCa sector and related fields.

Trnava Tourism, as a destination management organization (DMO) for the Trnava region and surroundings, has set a strategic goal for the coming years to increase the number of visitors to Trnava and the surrounding region.

DMO Trnava Tourism entered the tourism market as a unique initiative in Slovakia with the vision to make the Trnava region a recognizable European destination in the future.

The vision and strategic goal must also be supported by other specific objectives:

  1. Targeted positioning of the Trnava brand,
  2. Building attractive product lines and destination products,
  3. Creating a comprehensive tourism management system in the Trnava region (Trnava district) through a functioning regional organizational structure,
  4. Proactive and responsive communication with local residents as well as visitors to Trnava and the surrounding region.
